T.A.P.S Inc. is SCSA's Before and After School Care provider!
Dear Parents,
On behalf of myself and the T.A.P.S organization, I would like to say how excited we are to be providing Before/After and Out of School Care to your children for the 2020-21 school year at Southwest Charlotte STEM Academy.
T.A.P.S, Inc. has been providing both onsite and offsite care to many schools in the Charlotte area for the last 5 years. There are key areas we look at when deciding programming for any partnership and those are; Cost, Safety, Education, Programming that fits the demographics of the school, Staffing qualified employees, and structured fun activities. For SCSA, we are excited to bring more structured activities every day, extended pick up times, care for early release days(included in the cost), homework help, and appropriate clubs. We also looked at the number of children enrolled during the past years and felt the need to decrease ratio and hire additional staff to accommodate enrollment.
T.A.P.S fees are inclusive of charges pertaining to regular care during the school academic year. There are a number of special care days we charge separately. These include for example; care on days school is closed in accordance with the school policies. When we looked at the average cost for care, for school-aged children, in this area, we are still rated at the very low end for the county and for providers within a 10-mile radius including CMS. We will continue to work vigorously to provide you and your student with the exceptional care you expect and deserve for your investment. Our goal is to meet and exceed yours, and collaborative school expectations.

T.A.P.S Hours of Operation and Schedule
Before School Care
6:30 am to 7:45 am
Students cannot be dropped off prior to 6:30 am each morning, ALL parents are required to walk their child(ren) in for check into their groups.
After School Care
(All students are checked in by their Group Leader)
3:45 PM – 6:30 PM Pick-Up Late Charges start at 6:31 at $1.00 per minute, per child
ALL parents and authorized persons are required to walk in and sign each child out every day with our Admin.

Homework Help (Required for all students. Reading if there isn’t any homework assigned)
Activity Rotation
(Each group will rotate the stations separately, and as according to grade level). Students in the T.A.P.S after school program participate in, arts, music, games and sports, STEM activities, homework sessions, clubs and more.

All students will be placed in groups according to their grade levels. Groups will not be the same activity at the same time to ensure everyone has a fair rotation and the activities can be completed and enjoyed.
T.A.P.S 2020/21 Before/After School Care Price Schedule
Registration is $25.00 per child, to be in the program(non-refundable).
Before School Care Only $20.00 per week
Before School Care with After School Care $10.00 per week
After School Care with Before Care $65.00 per week or $260.00 per month per Child
After School Care without Before School Care $55.00 per week or $220.00 per month per Child
Early Release Days are included in the weekly price for students already enrolled in daily care.
Breaks and Closings (Care is available as according to school policies and with at least 10 children being enrolled) $85.00 per week for 3 or more days hours are 7:30am-6: 00 pm.
Drop-In Care on Closings For children who don’t need daily care, but a couple of days during that week. There is a $25.00 drop-in fee for the full day, care must be scheduled in advance of the days to ensure our ratio is not exceeded.
Drop-In Care
$10.00 per day (on a regular school day) not to exceed 2 days in the same week. (For Before School Care and After School Care only). If we track you are needing drop-in care on a regular weekly basis, we may deem our part-time care is a more appropriate option. This must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance online. Emergency drop-in care can be scheduled the day of(Must be paid online or at pickup). ALL drop-in care requires an email to both T.A.P.S and SCSA otherwise your student will be on their regular dismissal arrangements.
Part-time Care
1-2 days is $22.00 per week and must be paid in full for the month at the rate of $88.00 per month. No sibling discount on part-time care and families can choose any two days per week which is equivalent to 8 days per month.
Sibling Discount is a 10% savings on the oldest child. Please contact us for pricing on 3 or more children.
Payments are made on-site with the Admin every Friday for the coming weeks’ care. Late fees will start at the end of business on Monday. (See registration link for late fee breakdown). T.A.P.S only takes Credit, Debit, Money Order or Cash. No personal checks accepted. Receipts are provided at the time of payment either electronically or paper. For Cash, the exact change is required. Families can pay weeks or by the month in advance. Tuition is based on enrollment, NOT attendance. Payment is due regardless of attendance.
Registration
Registration is done online at tapscharlotte.com or by following the link from SCSA site. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Enrollment cannot exceed staffing as ratios must be maintained. You will not be able to register your child once we have meet staff/student ratio, and will be placed on the waitlist. You will be contacted if either space opens up or staff increases. At that time, you can pay the registration.
