Safe, Convenient Before and After School Care for SCSA Families
Southwest Charlotte STEM Academy partners with Young Explorers Enrichment Center to provide a safe, engaging, and supervised Before and After School Care program for students. Designed to support working families, the program offers a structured environment where students can complete homework, participate in creative activities, enjoy healthy snacks, and build friendships before and after the school day.
Whether your child needs care in the morning, the afternoon, or both, our extended care program provides flexible options that fit your family’s schedule.

The program is designed to keep students engaged while
providing families with peace of mind before and after school.
Program Hours
Our Before and After School Care program is available on regular school days and half days.
Before School Care
- Opens at 6:45 AM
After School Care
- Pickup available until 6:00 PM
Please note:
- Services are not available on teacher workdays or school holidays.
- If Southwest Charlotte STEM Academy closes early or cancels school due to inclement weather, extended care services will not be available.
Program Fees
Young Explorers Enrichment Center offers flexible payment options for families.
Registration Fee
- $30 annual registration fee
Weekly Rates (August)
- Before School Care: $50 per week
- After School Care: $100 per week (includes before care as needed)
School-Year Tuition
Monthly payments are based on the school calendar and number of instructional weeks. Before School Care ranges from $150–$200 per payment period, while After School Care ranges from $300–$400 depending on the month. A detailed fee schedule is available during registration.
Important Program Information
To help the program operate smoothly, families should note:
- A $10 late fee applies after payment due dates.
- Late pickup after 6:00 PM is charged at $2 per minute.
- Services are provided on regular school days and scheduled half days.
- Care is unavailable on teacher workdays, holidays, and emergency school closures.
